Our Story

Our name is a playful twist on 'Other Half', reflecting our commitment to being the reliable marketing partner that you can count on. Why the otter, you might ask? Well, we see ourselves as playful, carefree, and just as fun-loving as the cute aquatic mammal. But don't worry, we won't be raiding your koi pond any time soon!

Our team was brought together through tough times. Three of us were made redundant at the height of a tech layoff. However, we turned that experience into a positive one by founding OtterHalf, a marketing consulting firm that helps tech companies grow sustainably with creativity and kickass execution, even with today’s limited budgets.

The Supporting Team

Shu - Senior Content Strategist

With 8+ years of experience, Shu has flexed her copy and content development chops across almost every online and offline platform. She led the regional content team at Atome, Asia’s leading Buy Now, Pay Later platform and was previously part of Tripadvisor’s global creative team. She also creates content on Instagram and TikTok (@shuutravels) in her free time.
Melisa - Partnerships Lead

Mel has 9 years of experience driving partnerships and business development across Asia. She has a knack for tech partnerships and led partnership efforts with Google Pay, Facebook, Instagram, Kris+, Meituan Dianping during her time at Chope.
Hayley - Senior Designer

British born, Hayley is an award-winning designer and illustrator who has over 4 years of experience working with various agencies and in-house teams across Europe and Asia. Some notable brands that Hayley has designed for include Freia and Jacobs Douwe Egberts. Hayley is one of the founding team members of OtterHalf.
Hanyun - Content Designer

Hanyun brings her expertise in content design through experiences with founding her own design studio and an upcycled fashion brand named CICLA. Prior to joining OtterHalf, she was part of the marketing team at Singapore Fashion Council, and designed a website for food service app startup SKIPQQ.
Hikaru - Senior Multimedia Specialist

Hix joins with 4 years of experience in video editing, motion graphics, and graphic design. Some of the clients she worked with include Amazon Prime Video, Nestle and Ayala Malls during her time at McCann Worldgroup. She was also selected as Preview Magazine's Creative 25 of 2023.
Damian - Marketing Specialist

Damian is currently a final-year Communications Studies undergraduate at NTU. Before joining OtterHalf, he was working at Havas Media and PHD Media, where he honed his media planning skills on a variety of clients, including NTUC, HSBC and Amazon. Today, Damian supports the team with performance ads, research and strategy.
Jia En ‘JE’ – Researcher-Strategist

Jia En has 11 years of experience and covers market research, brand research, user experience (UX) research, as well as workshopping, facilitation, and guest-lecturing in UX. She has conducted on-the-ground fieldwork across 7 markets in APAC, and was previously a Senior UX Researcher at Tripadvisor.
